Greetings from the world of art!
I am a self-taught artist born in '92 in Villähde, who is pursuing my dream full-time under the business name Teija Rusila Art, established in January 2021.
My artistic path has been full of various adventures, exploration, the joy of discovery, great emotions, and lots of color! Sometimes those colors have ended up on the soles of my shoes, the front door, and, of course, my own face. Life is an adventure and a journey that art makes meaningful and very dear to me.
I studied art for two years at the Lahti Folk High School. Although the studies were not vocational, between them I found my own world, where colors, symbolism, and surrealism play a major role, making it my way of speaking. My great passion for art and encouraging others also earned me a scholarship during my first year.
I have created art using many different techniques, such as watercolors, acrylics, gouaches, traditional and water-mixable oil paints, and ceramics. In addition, I have created art by drawing digitally. At the moment, I have parked my creative passion with wax and oil pastels, without forgetting digital drawing.
I wouldn't categorize my art by subject, because in my art, a sugar-cube bird can fly in through an open window or a squirrel can appear sitting on a tree branch, depending on the day and the mood.
